Game developer-turned-filmmaker Josef Fares is known for making cooperative games based on stories like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and A Way Out, but his next game seems a little different…
It will still feature cooperative play between two players, but It Takes Two is about a girl facing separation from his parents. She creates two dolls that represent her parents and, through a bit of magic that we don’t understand, she can control them and their emotions. “You are almost playing with her emotions,” says Fares.
We don’t know much more than that, but given Fares’ previous work, I’m excited to find out. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was a fantastic journey with an emotional punch, and it seems like It Takes Two could deliver a similar punch. It also looks a little off the rails. At one point during the EA Play presentation, we were shown a first-person perspective of a roller coaster in space. It’s kind of weird, so you should see the reveal above to see for yourself.
