SNK reveals King, The trailer below confirms the return of May, Kyo, Leona, K, Timaru, and Shawnee The King of Fighters 15 is due to expire sometime in 2021. The platforms have not been announced yet. SNK said it will reveal more with a new trailer on January 10.
Producer Yasuyuki Oda and creative director Eisuke Ogura provided some comments on The King of Fighters 15 in a longer SNK video posted yesterday. SNK reveals King, “We are focusing on preserving the series’ core component of speed while adding elements to make it more exciting,” Ogura says. This is not much to go on at this point!
Ogura continues, “We are now able to do things for both audio and visuals that were impossible when developing 14, SNK reveals King, so we are taking our time to make sure every component is optimized.”
Meanwhile, the video continues to reveal the King of Fighters 14 Ultimate Edition for PlayStation 4, which includes all of the game’s DLC. This is now digitally, and physically in the spring.
We also got an advertisement for The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match on PS4 (it originally appeared in 2009 for PlayStation 2, then in 2010 on Xbox Live Arcade, and most recently in 2015 on Steam). This classic combat game includes the undo net code to improve online gameplay.
Moving on to SNK’s other fighting game, Samurai Shodown, the video reveals the season passage of three DLC Cham Cham characters that will be released in mid-March 2021. Then, Hibiki Takane from The Last Blade 2 is set to be a guest character. The Last Blade 2 is an SNK fighting game from 1998 (we have Martin loves it). Two characters are left undisclosed to reveal the pass.
Finally, Samurai Shodown gets a new update alongside Cham Cham in March that adds a new Guard Crush mechanic and rebalances the entire game.
