Shadow Warrior 3 Gameplay, Publisher Devolver has shown off gameplay for Shadow Warrior 3 during its digital showcase. Polish studio Flying Wild Hog’s latest looks to me like ninja Doom..
with a grappling hook and plenty of demon blood all over the shop. It looks like fun! During the Devolver Direct 2020, the publisher shared a new gameplay reveal trailer for Shadow Warrior 3, giving us a closer look at the game’s mix of fast-paced gunplay and melee combat.
The trailer runs for about a minute and a half, and whether you’re a longtime fan of the series or a newcomer, the trailer should offer an idea of what to expect from the first-person series from developer Flying Wild Hog.
You can check out the full trailer for yourself below:
Unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t get into either the story or why Lo Wang was wearing Hoji’s mask in earlier teasers. The back-and-forth banter between the two was one of my favorite parts of the Shadow Warrior reboot and I’d love to see more of that in the new game.
The voice in the trailer and the Steam listing both indicate that his sidekick this time around is Orochi Zilla, his employer, nemesis from the reboot, but there’s no ignoring the presence of that mask, so I remain hopeful.
In the game you’ve got a katana to slice up the demons, air dashes, wall running, double jumps, and the aforementioned new grappling hook to get around. You’ve also got up close finishing moves “to claim a piece of your conquered foe and unleash its powers back on the horde in a burst of unstoppable fury and powerful magic”.
and combat arenas with hazardous structures and devices that can be activated, It’s all set in a neo feudal Japan “infused with the magic and technology of ancient samurai, now overrun by the demonic yokai from Japanese folklore”.
Other than the gameplay trailer, there was no additional information provided just yet for Shadow Warrior 3, which is currently set to release on PC sometime next year.
However, at the moment you can wishlist the game on Steam and stay tuned for updates as it gets closer to release. However, if the gameplay trailer left you wanting more, the first two games in the series are currently discounted on Steam for about $20 right now. Shadow Warrior 3 is currently in development for PC and expected to release sometime in 2021.
