Satisfactory Between the two platforms, successful sales have now reached over 1 million units in total, and in a new developer video, Coffee Stain breaks down exactly how that’s split on Steam and Epic…
Satisfactory has sold 1,326,518 copies in total as of today, July 3. 958,917 of those sales have been on Epic, and the remaining 367,601 sales have been through Steam. Epic hit the 500k mark in just under three months after launch, and Steam has hit 367k in less than a month, making the game sell faster on the Valve platform.
Community manager Jace Varlet attributes the fastest sales on Steam to a few main factors. First, “obviously, Steam is a goliath, so there are a lot more people there.” That will weigh things. Second, the Coffee Stain version of the building games has also enjoyed an additional 10% off as part of the Steam Summer Offer: first discount on Epic that occurred early, but not within the first month.
That being said, in my opinion I think Steam will outperform it. There are only more people. ” Varlet adds that there are “other things to consider: satisfying is a better game now. There are more features. It has had one more year of exposure.”
This is a very rare opportunity to get a breakdown of how a game was sold on both Steam and Epic, with specific numbers from someone who really knows. Varlet says: “I think transparency is really important. I have always been as transparent as possible. I think some people want to know the numbers. They are curious about it, and we know the numbers. So why not do this?
