Pokémon Red, Pokémon is about becoming “the best ever, like never before,” and game programmer Constantin Leitard has given the opportunity to hundreds, if not thousands, of budding coaches. He created a script that would allow people to play Pokémon Red inside his Twitter avatar.
Reply to Lietard’s tweet below with any of the game inputs (Up, Down, Left, Right, A, B, Start, and Select), and the most popular score will be picked every 15 seconds. The fruits of unwanted chatting will appear once Lietard’s 400 x 400 avatar updates.
At the time of writing, there have been more than 30,000 responses to Lietard’s tweet, and due to popular demand, he has created a category in his Discord server to help players better coordinate whether they’re logging into a wall or entering the settings menu the thousandth time.
What are Twitter Plays Pokémon up to now? Currently, you see them stand motionless and shoot through Pokemon, one of which is Wartortle called “MAYBE”. A Discord member suggested they call Spiro “Aspire.” Looks like they’re about to launch, I guess ?!
This is not the first time that Internet intelligence has united to conquer a video game. The popular Twitch Plays saw Twitch Chat really deal with Pokémon, (kinda) beat the Dark Souls, and even recently landed a plane in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
