PERSONA 4 GOLDEN MOD RESTORES GAY ROMANCE OPTION

PERSONA 4 GOLDEN MOD, There has been a major shift towards LGBT + acceptance in the past several years. Whether it’s a TV series like Doctor Who and American Horror Story, or books like They Both Die at the End, or movies like Love, Simon, and Moonlight, people see the value of quirky storytelling and work hard to include these stories.

However, video games are still a noticeable step back. While the LGBT + options are more frequent, to the point of fulfilling the expectation of any game with romantic characters, only one AAA game (to my knowledge) has an LGBT character, The Last of Us: Part 2. Unfortunately, one game series that has it. PERSONA 4 GOLDEN MOD, A particularly disturbing history with the LGBT + community is Persona.

While Persona 2: Innocent Sin was at the forefront of the curve, including the gay romance option all the way back in 1999, recent history has been more blurry, with Persona 5 attracting criticism from LGBT + groups for including two particularly stereotypical gay people occasionally in the form of A running gag, to the point of rewriting their lines in the English version of Persona 5: Royal. While number 5 includes some subtext between the protagonist and party members Goro and Yusuke, both are not romantic, and they have not been confirmed to be LGBT +.

Persona 4 was somewhere in the middle. While not containing confirmed LGBT + characters, it does feature one character, Kanji, who has been heavily hinted at as gay or bisexual, but it looks like the game could have gone a step further and included a gay romantic option – Party member Yosuke – An option that has been made available thanks to a mod for the PC version of Persona 4: Golden, released earlier this year.

Of course, this isn’t official content, but Atlus has proven to be (relatively) sensible, removing content that the LGBT + community found offensive, and at one point it was on top when it came to acting. With Persona 5 being the most successful game in the series to date, to the point where the series is a rival to JRPG Juggernaut Final Fantasy, chances are they’ll want to take the next step if they think enough people want the choice for same-sex, romantic characters. . After all, the mod doesn’t add a new romance, it only brings back the content cut from the final game, so the romance has been contemplated at some point with Yosuke – with enough support for the model, it is possible that we will see more official acting in the future.
