Pavlov VR I’ve noticed several interesting things about playing a shooter in VR, for one, you can be much more expressive as a main character. You can wave to your friends, you can give high fives, you can beg for mercy…
About The Game
Pavlov VR, I think the fact that there’s location based voice chat makes a huge difference as well, playing this in VR, while you don’t exactly feel like you’re “really there”, there is a sense of community with the other players in the game that you don’t normally have.
A good example of this, I was playing a game and myself and another character rounded the corner on each other, I needed to reload and in the few seconds it took me to reload he threw his hands in the air and begged me not to shoot him, then he threw his gun away. I talked to him for a second and he was having trouble with his cord and he wasn’t sure if his microphone was working. Since I could hear him we were able to confirm that it was working. He said thanks, I gave him a high five, and we walked past each other without killing each other.
Experiences like that just don’t happen in normal gaming, the level of expression you can show with your character is incredible. You can even commit suicide in this game by pointing your own gun at your head.
The mechanics of shooting are also incredibly different in VR, for example blind firing around corners is an actual legitimate strategy, and you don’t have to worry about people just popping out of a corner and instantly headshotting you (except for cheaters, but that’s in a lot of games) because it does take a few seconds to get your sights straightened out.
