Lords of the Fallen 2, CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski shared some updates on the Polish studio’s strategy, in particular Lords of the Fallen 2, which the CEO described as the largest project under development at CI Games (which now includes more than 80 developers and has raised more than € 6 million. Earlier this year to accelerate growth) more ambitious than the first batch.
Lords of the Fallen 2 is our largest collection of CI games. The previous game was a full feature version at full price and we are approaching the next version with a bigger scope. The sequel will carry the franchise into dark fantasy and introduce a revised and challenging combat system.
Our strategy at CI Games has changed dramatically compared to the strategy we had for the years 2017-2019. While Lords of the Fallen 2 is fully priced, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will still be mid-priced. We appreciate having the ability to work on a mix of games with two separate teams and many of our external partners from all over the world.
Lords of the Fallen 2 has had a tumultuous history of development, as they hit their hands at least twice before landing on the lap of Hexworks, a studio based in Barcelona and Bucharest. It goes without saying that the company’s goal is to turn it into a “long-term franchise”.
Contextually, CI Games CEO Marek Teminsky also gave an update on another major franchise that the Polish developer and publisher own: Sniper Ghost Warrior. The franchise has now sold more than 11 million units cumulatively, and 2 contracts are scheduled to be launched “soon”.
I’m happy to break 11 million copies sold. Excellence is important to us. We learned a lot from SGW3 and successfully launched the Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts, which have just crossed the million unit mark. The next batch of SGW Contracts 2 franchise will be released globally soon.
