If you want to hunt monsters in the swamp without being hunted by other players, good news: Hunt: Showdown has released a single player PvE mode, Trials…
This brings a series of challenges to both maps in Crytek’s Monster Hunting FPS, allowing you to hone your skills in sniper tests, parkour tests, and wave survival tests, or simply explore levels without being killed. . They are very nice levels. The novelty has also come for multiplayer hunters, with the new dual-grip feature that allows you to launch two weapons at once.
Double tests and tests came with update 1.4.1 on Friday. Check out the patch notes for more info, and this developer livestream earlier in the month for more information on both features:
Regular Hunt is PvEvP, featuring teams of monster hunters trying to survive monster hordes and kill a big boss to escape with the trophy, while preventing other players from achieving the same goals. Matt liked the tense look of PvP in our Hunt: Showdown review, particularly the time to claim the Big Bad Bounty and then run away, chased. He said, “I often get more out of prey than predator, delighting in giving people a slip rather than a headshot.” We recently saw how Hunt: Showdown also creates a hot, dripping tension.
Glad to see some PvE hit Hunt, even if it’s less than I ever dreamed of. The whole damn South American Hunt looks strong and I really like horrible monsters, but I think a few years on the Playerunknown Battlegrounds quenched all my desire to crawl around a large map killing other players. But you can bet I want to fight horrible bees and swirling angry swirls.
