Final Fantasy VII Medley Compilation Album Now Available Digitally

Final Fantasy VII

To celebrate the Final Fantasy VII remake, Square Enix has released the entire Distant Worlds and A New World music compilation on Bandcamp. This digital medley contains every musical moment, battle medley, and Final Fantasy VII character theme released by Distant Worlds and A New World…

NPD data from April 2020 shows that Final Fantasy VII Remake beat Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and is now the most successful entry in the long-running franchise in terms of units sold and sales in dollars in a month of launch.

Remake director Tetsuya Nomura had the most shocking moment in the original Final Fantasy VII. As previously revealed, Final Fantasy VII Remake has a lot of new elements, and stage designer Kazushige Nojima even explains how Cloud rewritten for the remake. We also translated Nojima’s comments on how Final Fantasy VII influenced Final Fantasy VIII. In an interview posted via Square Enix, co-director Naoki Hamaguchi and producer Yoshinori Kitase talk about their reasoning behind making some bold changes to the remake of a beloved game, which means why Sephiroth was introduced so early in the game.

We also translated the short film made to promote the remake. Square Enix, meanwhile, is currently working on the second and possibly the last episode. Square Enix released a trailer that reveals the game’s title track called Hollow, along with many iconic moments and regressive faces from the original PS1 classic. Our feature editor also wrote about how the new version won him over as a Final Fantasy fan.

Square also announced the Orchestra World Tour, which will bring orchestral performances from the upcoming game’s soundtrack to cities in the US, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, and Japan.

Final Fantasy Remake finally launched on April 10 after a month late and you can buy the game on Amazon here. Take a look at our extremely comprehensive title review here. I wrote a fairly comprehensive beginner’s guide for newcomers (including some useful Mater builds and weapons for Tifa), but you can also check out this incredibly intricate and damaging combo to see why proper character builds matter in Remake.
