Daemon.x.machina is a third-person shooter action game developed and published by Marvelous. It was released for the Nintendo Switch in September 2019 and Microsoft Windows in February 2020…
About The Game
Daemon.x.machina, You are an Outer, a new breed of human being that appeared in the aftermath of the Moonfall calamity. As a mercenary for the Orbital organization,
you are on the front line of a desperate war for humanity’s survival against the Immortals corrupted AIs that have rebelled against their human creators. Piloting a fully customizable mech known as an Arsenal, you must team up with mercenaries like yourself and complete missions to defeat the Immortals once and for all. But be careful—in a war fought by mercenaries, today’s allies can become tomorrow’s enemies. From the visionary minds of Kenichiro Tsukuda and trailblazing mech designer Shoji Kawamori comes a new generation of high-speed mech action combat.
The characters are 2D and the plot is paper-thin.
It ALMOST gets the movement, gameplay, and customization down, but fails at the finer details.
Jumping and aerial combat is just wonky enough to be annoying, especially in confined spaces.
Weapon and part balance is a joke, at least 75% of the weapons are basically worthless.
Also, they cut out internal customization, which while not a huge issue is still worth mentioning.
(maybe DXM 2 will fix all that? we’ll see) Oh and they hid a secret research shop in the useless ice cream shop if you buy enough ice cream, just fyi.
You also apparently have to be C rank to see it after you unlock it. But ALL of that aside, it’s still fun and better than most of the mech games on steam.
It’s also the best AC fans are likely to get for the foreseeable future;
So I’ll kick back, beat the whole thing, make a couple of loadouts, and hope the next one refines the formula.
