Borderlands movie, The upcoming Borderlands movie appears to be nearly ready to start filming in Hungary, according to the latest reports. According to The Hollywood Reporter (and spotted by PC Gamer), this was in an interview with Adam Goodman – president of Hungary-based MidAtlantic Films – where he left that the production was one of many films given the green light to begin filming in the country: We’ve opened up space for Lionsgate, Borderlands, and we’re doing Season 3 of Jack Ryan for Paramount TV, and we’re doing a Marvel project, which, for usual security reasons, I can’t talk about. ”
Hungary appears to have been chosen to essentially double the Pandora name as the country was one of the first to introduce high-level preventive measures as part of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring that the actors and crew’s tiered bubble systems are protected and mandatory regular testing to ensure safe filming.
As for the Borderlands movie itself, Cate Blanchett’s star is slated to play Lilith and Jumanji: Next-level star Kevin Hart as Roland, which has yet to be confirmed. Eli Roth is the head director and Randy Pitchford is the executive producer. The movie currently does not have a release date at the time of writing, but depending on how smooth the filming is, we might hear about one in the not too distant future.
